Long story short an incredibly entitled and selfish white woman arrives in Mombasa, falls “in love” at first sight with someone whom she can’t communicate with and doesn’t understand or share any culture with. Stalks and pursues said person until he unwittingly let’s her stay with him. His family and friends smuggle him off to get away from her and she stalks him to his distant village where she demands to move in with him and his starving family (like they need another mouth to feed). Everything about this stupid naive and ignorant woman screams entitled and superior and I wonder if she ever considered how little she respects or understands or attempts to understand another completely different culture. I’m so mad at every page I read but also have a morbid curiosity to see how it ends.On top of this her writing style is boring and mundane without any good descriptive sentences and she fails to paint the reader a mental picture of her feelings or the environment she is living in. Reads kind of like a journal. A boring, insensitive, and selfish journal. Ugh. I hate this woman.
